CONTROLLED BURN IN NAMAKAGON
The U.S. Forest Service will be conducting a controlled burn this spring in the Namakagon Cluster in the recently logged areas. The purpose of the burn will be to reduce on-ground fuels and curtail regrowth of understory and brush. Affected trails will include: Patsy Lake Trail and Namakagon Trail on the east side of FR 203/Lost Land Lake Rd. These trails will be closed for a couple of days during and following the burn. The Forest Service will announce the date of the burn a few days in advance. The burn is very dependent on weather and particularly wind conditions and will take place shortly after leaves begin to bud out. More information will be provided as soon as we hear.
