SNOW!

With the recent snow and wet weather it looks like the traditional riding season is at least on hold, if not over. Two to four inches of heavy wet snow fell on Friday. Riding the trails at this time [even on a fat bike] could cause damage. The trails are not frozen, the temperatures will rise to above freezing, several trails have no leaf cover and the snow amounts to a small amount of standing water on the trails. All together this is not a good combination and we request that people do not ride the trails until the trails either dry out or freeze solid.

We will also soon be entering that particularly vulnerable time of the year when the freeze-thaw cycle renders the soil into an oatmeal like consistency. Some of the most significant trail impacts have occurred at this time of the year, so please be conscious of these conditions as they develop. Thanks.
