CAMBA WORK DAY POSTPONED TO MAY 3
Due to lingering snow and wet conditions, the CAMBA annual spring workday has been postponed to Saturday, May 3.
Volunteers interested in helping clean up the trails and get them ready for the coming mountain bike season (we're confident it is coming) should meet at Mooselips Café at 9:00 on Saturday, May 3.
We hope you can join us. If you have any questions, call 715/798-3599 or email camba@cheqnet.net.
FOREST SERVICE TO OFFER
CHAINSAW CERTIFICATION CLASS
CAMBA volunteers who operate a chainsaw on trails on the national forest are required to take a chain saw certification class. This will provide them with the necessary safety training as well as basic chain saw operation skills.
The Forest Service is offering a class to satisfy this requirement. It will be held on Saturday, May 10 from 8 am to 4 pm at the Washburn Ranger District Office in Washburn. The morning session will be inside reviewing saw maintenance and safety procedures, then the class will head out to the "local" woods where each participant will do some cutting in order to meet the certification requirements. Chainsaw certification also requires a
concurrent CPR/First Aid certification. Those who have taken the full chainsaw certification class within the past two years are only required to attend the afternoon session to demonstrate their proficiency. Of course all are welcome (and encouraged) to attend the morning safety session as well.
Anyone interested in this course should get in touch with Karen Larsen as soon as possible so she can get a roster set up and make sure they have enough instructors to cover the field portion of the class. You may contact her by email or phone and she will get back to you directly with final details.
