MILWAUKEE/MADISON AREA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BIKE EXPO
CAMBA will have a booth at the upcoming Wheel & Sprocket Bike Expo, March 19-22 at the Wisconsin State Fair Grounds in West Allis. Dedicated volunteer, Tom Held, has generously staffed the booth for CAMBA for the past several years. He’ll be back again this year and could use some help. If you have a few hours to sit in and represent CAMBA at the Expo, we would greatly appreciate it. Expo hours are: Wed. 4:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday 4:00-9:00 p.m., Friday 10:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m., and Saturday 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Please contact CAMBA and we’ll put you in touch with Tom if you can help. camba@cheqnet.net, 715/798-3599. Thanks.
NEW LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP AVAILABLE
This winter the CAMBA board of directors decided to add a Lifetime category to our membership offerings. The cost is $500 with benefits the same as a family membership. Unfortunately this option was not included in the recent membership mailing. It will be in the future. If you would like to take advantage of this option, please simply write it in on the membership form and send it in with your check. If you have already renewed your membership, you may convert it to a Lifetime membership by noting this on a membership form and deducting the amount already paid. Upon receipt of your form and check, we will adjust your membership status.
TRAIL PLANNING UNDERWAY
A detailed update about our trail development plans for the coming season will be in the next full newsletter. Briefly, we are planning to continue construction of the next segment of singletrack trail from Mosquito Brook north, with a goal of tying it to Gravel Pit Road. About 2 1/2 miles of trail remain to be constructed to connect to Gravel Pit. Time and budget permitting, construction will press forward to the north. Ultimately this trail will connect to Cty. Hwy OO.
CAMBA KIDS BACK FOR 2008
The inaugural CAMBA Kids program was a great success. Continuation of the program introducing young riders to mountain biking will take place this summer. Four Sunday sessions are planned at Hatchery Creek Park: June 1, 8, 15 and 22. More information will be forthcoming in the next full newsletter.
